Purpose
The name of this organization shall be the 23rd Regiment Virginia Volunteer Infantry, Companies A-K. ® *
The purpose of this organization shall be to present the life and times of typical Virginia citizen-soldiers of the historical period covered by the years 1858-1865 inclusive, in as accurate and realistic a manner as the availability of items, financial consideration and contemporary research will allow: to promote and to stimulate further interest in all aspects and phases of Army life for the infantry of both sides of the period and the War itself.
The nature of the services offered by this organization shall be volunteer. No payment or offered services shall be solicited for by members or officers of this organization
